I have been lucky enough to help found and co organize a really spectacular art convention called Spectrum Fantastic Art Live! Over 200 of the top artists in Fantasy,  Science Fiction, and Comics. Yesterday after an exhausting day 1 we wound down with a cocktail party under a fantastic Kansas City sunset. Today promises to be even busier. Speakers today include Mike Mignola, Phil Hale, Brom, James Gurney, Iain McCaig workshops, Will Stout, panels on narrative storytelling, worldbuilding and creating fantastic art in 3 dimension… shit I am already tired….

Jean Baptiste Monge painting in James Gurney’s booth at Spectrum Fantastic Art Live.  Woman with lovely smile is James Gurney’s wife Jeanette. She is a painter in her own right but she says, “Sometimes I’m just have to be Mrs Gurney”.
